I am not alone.
Everywhere I go it seems people are trying. They want to lose weight. To get in shape. To be healthier physically and mentally.
For many of us, it’s obvious why we are trying: those rolls of fat, the chubby cheeks – up high and down low – the breathlessness when we move.
For others it is less obvious. It seems they are already there. They put the rest of us to shame with their striving. But they know they could do better, so they keep trying.
But the thing is, we really are all in this together. We just don’t know it because many of us struggle in silence.
It’s like the “cool” kids who don’t want to be caught caring about homework – better to not let people know that you care and you are trying. If they know you care, if they see your struggle and you fail, you will publicly be known as a failure.
It’s a silly thought process really.
Who among us judges others so harshly? Really, most of us reserve that sort of judgment for ourselves.
